Overview
This policy explains what information R9Bot (“R9”, “we”) collects when you set up and use your robot, why we collect it, and the controls you and your family have over it.
Information We Collect
We collect only what's needed to run R9 and support your account:
- Account details you provide, such as your name, email, and shipping address for orders.
- Device and setup information, like your R9 unit's serial number and app version.
- Usage data, such as play time and feature usage, used to improve the product.
How R9 Processes Voice & Conversation Data
The wake word is detected on the robot itself, not in the cloud. Audio is only sent for processing after the wake word is heard, and conversations are not stored beyond what's needed to generate a response unless you've opted in to conversation history in the app.
Children's Privacy
R9 is designed for ages 12+. Content filters, time limits, and data controls live in the companion app, which is intended for use by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is required for R9 to function, and a parent can review or delete a child's data from the app at any time.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to operate R9, process orders, provide customer support, keep the robot secure and up to date, and understand how features are used so we can improve them.
Data Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share information only with service providers who help us run R9 (such as shipping and cloud infrastructure providers), and only to the extent needed to provide the service.
Security
Account and device data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to do their jobs.
Your Choices & Rights
You can review, export, or delete your account and conversation data from the companion app, or by contacting us directly. You can also disable cloud features entirely and use R9's on-device capabilities only.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
